Those TBI's are easy to clean if varnished up. With a van and the engine cover off you should be able to check fuel pressure and injector pulse etc pretty easily. You just need the basic info, as to what psi you should see on the tbi and listen to the injector to see if it ticks while keeping it running with a trickle of gas or other means. Pretty sure the computer uses the dist setup to pulse the injectors. 85 should have a plug under drivers side dash to jump with a "key" to get any codes.
