japan is an island; no 'ciudad juarez' anywhere nearby, but they do 
have kids whom i'm sure play in their cars. * I agree even one child is too many. 



safety would appeal to 
them. those pw switches you push down to make the window go down, 
pull up to make it go up? not a law, japanese development; kid can't 
choke to death sticking head out window and stepping on sw. 

*There was the beginnings of a push for the down/up window switches. 
Japan just automatically saw the need and added them. Now Big 3? 
Maybe just following along or also having enough sense for once to do it 
on their own. After all 99% of new models get redesigned door panels and 
their is not going to be much if any extra cost to go to the safer switch. (the Gov here probably spent several days righting a law anyway)
