'refrigerator' doorhandles?  last car in america with them; i've
developed sort of a radar eye as my gf had one when i met her.  it was
maroon too.

japan is an island; no 'ciudad juarez' anywhere nearby, but they do
have kids whom i'm sure play in their cars.  safety would appeal to
them.  those pw switches you push down to make the window go down,
pull up to make it go up?  not a law, japanese development; kid can't
choke to death sticking head out window and stepping on sw.
