Ken, that small Holley 4V should be pretty economical. Just put a stronger spring in the vacuum secondary chamber if you have trouble staying out of it. I'm assuming, of course, that it's a vacuum secondary carb (390 cfm, maybe?). It was on the car when I bought it. It ran OK until something broke in the clutch.
