ok, so, maybe i was gettin excited about the 401. i went to do a little looking lastnight. oil pan had a spot in it rusted almost clear thru. so i tapped on it, and yup, like i suspected, it punched thru. so, i startedwhacking harder to get a bigger hole in it. guess what. OIL PAN IS SOLID WITH DIRT, RUST, AND CRUD!!! so, i dont think this motor is going to even be worth trying to save. will pull heads and oil pan and see if any is salvageable. owell, that snow plow wasnt worth nothing but scrap metal price to me. just would be friggin sweet to have a 401 in a 62 classic 2 door, with a 5 speed with 3.89 gears to be able to launch well and smoke people if i wanted.that 3.89 geared ford 9" is from the 76 ford ranchero i was drag racing lastyear. amazingly, a car that HUGE actually has a rear axle that is only 1/2" wider than the 62 big body car, and the frame iteslf is 3/4" wider.eh, i would love a lot more to find a 4.0/t5. id love to build into a 4.6 likemarks setup. that sounds like it would be fun, and still decent on fuel. dave stohler www.picasaweb.google.com/das24rules _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
