ok, so, maybe i was gettin excited about the 401. i went to do a little
looking lastnight. oil pan had a spot in it rusted almost clear thru. so i
tapped on it, and yup, like i suspected, it punched thru. so, i started
whacking harder to get a bigger hole in it. guess what. OIL PAN IS SOLID WITH
DIRT, RUST, AND CRUD!!! so, i dont think this motor is going to even be worth
trying to save. will pull heads and oil pan and see if any is salvageable. o
well, that snow plow wasnt worth nothing but scrap metal price to me. just
would be friggin sweet to have a 401 in a 62 classic 2 door, with a 5 speed
with 3.89 gears to be able to launch well and smoke people if i wanted.

that 3.89 geared ford 9" is from the 76 ford ranchero i was drag racing last
year. amazingly, a car that HUGE actually has a rear axle that is only 1/2"
wider than the 62 big body car, and the frame iteslf is 3/4" wider. 

eh, i would love a lot more to find a 4.0/t5. id love to build into a 4.6 like
marks setup. that sounds like it would be fun, and still decent on fuel.
