I'm a bit back-logged on email from this group, so someone else may have touched on this already. My Ford Ranger (1999 model) uses a little sensor in the differential to control the speedo. I had the same problem as you - bouncy needle that sporadially worked, then quit altogether. The fix was to replace the pick-up sensor. It cost about $20 and took less than 10 minutes to replace. - Justin > Message: 2 > Date: Sat, 18 Oct 2008 12:51:11 -0700 > From: Jim Blair <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: [Amc-list] OT: Ford Speedometer issues > To: <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > Message-ID: <BLU146-W181ACD7A7730FB1E5B27C4AC2D0@xxxxxxx> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" > > > Same as any other speedo, including Ramblers.
