[Amc-list] Starter

I was just wondering if there is a shorter nose anyone knew of. There is
probably a number of different ones made for that starter housing to fit
multiple engines just like the ford-AMC starter (i once used a 67 6cyl
starter on my 390 by changing the nose from a bad v-8 starter). I don't need
a starter just wanted a lightweight one for the racecar and got this one very
cheap when hi-gear went out of business. I think the nose is about .250" away
from working, anyone know if the gears are the same tooth count and size?
(starter&flywheel).
