Well, I opened the throttle wide after feeding it some
gas and a small shot of starter fluid and it ran a few
seconds after the starter was disengaged, so I think I
can get it to run with a steady gas supply using the
fuel pump and an auxilliary gas supply.  There were no
unusual noises except for perhaps a cracked exhaust
manifold or loose exhaust pipe.  I may try to save the
engine if the car ends up going to the junkyard.
