[Amc-list] Hot Rod Magazine and Some Thoughts

On the April fools article I probably have the magazine as I just got my May issue in the mail. Recently it has gotten to the point that I don't even bother to look at it. I can take just so many articles on Camero's, Chebby crate engines and different brands and so forth powered by a Chebby engine. There are a few Fords and a Mopar now and then. I just let my subscription laps from my lack of interest. No matter what we are always going to be the but of jokes even in positive articles and TV shows about our cars. There always has to be one little snide remark made. I have heard them all since I bought my first new car and it was a 65 American 440 Twin Stick. Only in the last 10 years have I not once gotten a bad comment about my Hornet's. Every time I take one out I get a positive comment. The latest one from a cop in a police cruiser who wanted to know what year it was and said it looked real fast. He probably wasn't even born or in diapers when it was built. I am annoyed a
 t snide remarks made in print and on TV but overlook them because of all the positive responses I get from the very young to the senior citizen. By the way I drive my orange Hornet at least 5 times a week. So that's a lot of compliments and makes me feel good saving this original survivor from being cut up and made into a race car and also justifies the large amount of money I used to fix it up. For what it cost me I could probably get me a used 4-5 year old Honda that I probably couldn't fit my fat old butt into. Call me old fashioned but I hate small 4 doors, front wheel drive and rack and pinion steering. Enjoy your cars, I am taking mine out for a drive and run a few errands this afternoon.
