It's been at least 17 years since I did any serious front end work on an XJ and the one I need now wasn't even built yet. On a 97, will the axles and u joints pull through the steering knuckles once the bearing assemblies are pulled? I'm pretty sure they will, but I'd like to be sure before I tear into it. Both axle joints are toast on the 97. If I can do it without pulling steering knuckles I will do them myself. If I have to get into steering knuckles and possibly balljoints and such I will likely farm it out. Any c clips or reason to need to pull the front cover? Please reply off-list as I know this is off-topic. Thanks.
