Rather, I am looking for the SC/Clone that was for sale a while ago. > Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2006 22:30:54 -0700 > From: "Dan E. I'll send out the free issue Tuesday. For anyone else, get your request in before 2006 is over and I'll get one to you at the same time! Okay, you twisted my arm.. I'll honor any requests through the end of new year's day, but after I send this next batch out Tuesday morning that's it for the full freebie! I've prepared a new free sample issue based on this first issue of AMC for a new download/postable issue, but it doesn't have full article text and pics. Anyone with an AMC board can post the new sample issue file on their site as long as they leave it intact as is. I don't mind if you add site info to it though. I expect to upload this Tuesday morning as well. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) ------------------------------ Message: 6 Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2006 19:06:18 -0500 From: "Clifton Danley" <am401@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] Free issue of new AMC magazine. Here are some of mine. To be able to put the bicycle accident behine me and be fully recovered is number one! To loose the 30lbs I have gained sitting on my ar$e is number two! Then it all comes down to time. A finished interior on the American! A new storage building. The convertible returned to "in progress" status or sold. The 65 American from Andrew here and the ability to build it! With a wife and kids, both boys playing spring season Lacrosse, I doubt most of this will happen! My healing will be slow from this point forward as since I am no longer considered an emergency things slow to a crawl. My MRI is not till January 16th and the follow up with my orthopedic surgeon does not occur untill Feb 5th. I can only pray that the MRI will show the damage clearly and be accurate. I've been reading heavy and seeing the torn Labrum cartiledge on MRIs is not an exact science. They may be able to tell exactly how bad it is before surgery, but there is a good chance it will not reflect all the damage and it could be worse or better than expected. I could end up with a simple cleanup pf loose edges and be clear of problems a week or tow after surgery or a repair could take 6 months to completely heal! I pray for the quick easy outcome, but fear the worst. Why I have been chosen to go thru this for simply wanting to ride a bike with my kids I do not know. Perhaps someday I will know. On other useless rambling, it is 60* out at 2:50 am Jan 1st! in Westvirginia. Tomorrow I will be under my Dakota measuring it's front swaybar so i can order up new bushings for it. I also have to get a new turnsignal switch for the Cherokee and a P/Window switch for the Altima. Time for a Rockauto order! :] I'm hoping i will feel like working on the gauges in the American tomorrow. I'm not betting on it however. 5 1/2 months after the accident and it still takes Ultraset every evening to shut off the pain from my back and neck. At least once I take a couple in the eveningit keeps the pain turned down or off till between 3 and 5 the next day. That's why i'm sitting here at 2:55 am! I couldn't take the ultraset till both kids returned home after newyears parties. The fun never ends. -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ------------------------------ Message: 8 Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2007 0:03:34 -0800 From: Mark Price <markprice242@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] plastics repair To: "AMC-DelMarVA: yahoogroups.com" <AMC-DelMarVA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, AMC List <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Message-ID: <179018.1167638614120.JavaMail.root@web15> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 OK, I'm hoping someone with good knowledge reads this. I need to put a piece into the gauge surround of the American. I have pieces I cut out of it and need to fill a crescent hole the billet panel won't cover. What I'm wondering is what is best to glue or weld the piece in with and if needed what filler to use to smooth things over. It's a white plastic and is not chalking or brittle, still flexes well for it's age. I have it finished with faux granite paint now and will likely use that finish again, so perfection will not be necessary. I just need it be fairly smooth and not fall apart. -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ------------------------------ Message: 9 Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2007 06:01:49 -0500 From: AMC74Hornet@xxxxxxxxx (Mr. AMC) Subject: Re: [AMC-List] Plastic Repair To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <549-4598EA1D-21426@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Mark as long as it is not a rubbery plastic I have used several different methods to repair plastic. Super Glue Gel, a 2 part epoxy called The Plastic Welding System and even JB Weld. I always back up the repair with Evergreen sheet styrene plastic for strength. The Evergreen is what I have in stock for building plastic model cars. I have not tried the plastic welding systems so I can't say how they work. The methods I have mentioned I have used on my recent Hornet interior job. I have never found anything that works to repair the rubbery type of plastic. I use ordinary auto body filler and glazing putty to smooth things out.
