Fw: Low pressure 401?

I repaired a Jeep for an acquaintance that had a similar problem along with 
a slight knock just above idle when warm.   When I tell you what caused the 
barely audible knock, you will not believe it wasn't worse.  This Jeep had a 
newly "rebuilt" 304 V8.  The "mechanic"  had installed standard size main 
bearings on the crank that had been machined  .050"  ( Yes, that is right ! 
, fifty thousandths ! of an inch. )   I found (with some effort) some 
bearings that were that undersize and since the crank was still pretty and 
measured perfect on every journal, it has performed flawlessly ever since.
