A: If the axles are both the same, swap backing plates with the shafts. I
notched the mounting flange to slide over the wheelbearing on the Hornet
axles I had.

A second approach I'm considering to fix the brakes on my wagon is to just
convert the stupid thing over to Bendix brakes. I have everything I need
here to do it but the backing plates are different. The front's no big deal
but the hubs are in the way to swap the rear plates. Is it possible to
remove the rear axles without removing the hubs? If so, how do I do it? The
car has a model 15 axle in it now.
Thanks,
Matt
