Re: Is it possible to pull rear axles without removing the hubs?

Nope. Hubs have to come off, then bearings, then backing plates. Pull the four bolts holding the backing plates then pull the axles, take them and the Bendix plates to a machine shop and have them put new bearings in while you have them out. It's the only way to do it! You need a hydraulic press to remove the hubs if you don't have the drive type puller shown in the TSM. Even then you may have to leave the axle under pressure over night, or over a couple hours. I've done that, and it's scary when it finally pops when left under pressure (if you're in the shop). Put a block of wood (2x4 or something) where the end of the axle will hit that when it lets go.
