"SOOoooooooooh... lemme get this straight -
John.....:
You're saying - someones Custom Ride
should Automatically Disappoint Judges
Prior to Judging them -
since it is something l'ess' - due
that they are not in Stock / Stock Modified
AMC class ?"
No, and please do get it straight. If the car
is not stock, it should not be judged as being
equal to stock in a stock class. Common sense
if ever there was any. If you alter it, it needs
to be in an appropriate class (which I'm all for
creating if it doesn't already exist). The
'disappointment' comment was originated by Jim,
on the other side of the discussion. I simply
turned the word back on itself to show that even
a defender of the non-AMC-engined-AMCs is
disappointed when he doesn't see an AMC plant in
it...and judges should similarly mark the vehicle
down when against AMC-powered AMCs.
But, then, I can also see the far side of the
argument, and it goes like this-
This all reminds me of the (sorry, ladies) B.S. of
women suing to get access to men's clubs, teams
other other organizations. A woman sees a men's
health club, is denied entry and sues to get access-
and wins. A man tries to join a women's health club,
and is shut right out. If he sues, he's laughed at.
The old 'what's hers is hers, and what's his is hers'.
So much for equality.
Show the car where it's appreciated. Don't ask existing
venues to change for your car. Why not go all the way
and have a section for Non-AMC-powered Non-AMCs? You
could bring your Honda-powered Honda Civic, slap an AMO
badge on the grille and you then start taking the trophies
from the SC/360s and MACHINES. After all, your 2005-model
is MINT and ALL-STOCK, right down to the salesman still
in the passenger seat from this morning's test drive!
Makes more sense to me to start a Non-AMC-powered AMC club
and hold your own meets. Don't pile in after the hard work
is done by others, then expect to reap the end product for
yourself.
Anyway- that's the radically 'AGAINST' viewpoint. It's
valid, but I don't think it's necessary to heed. I've
said repeatedly that a separate class for them sounds
workable.
Never said don't alter it.
Never said don't show it.
Never said don't judge it.
As for the rest of your note that follows, I'll
have to await the english translation. It's entirely
too esoteric for my caffeine-less brain this
morning. :)
