I noticed that BBOAMX is using .040 Badger pistons in his 390 according to the specs printed in the Car Craft that featured his car...that interior is AWESOME by the way! Anyway if this guy is doing 5500RPM launches with his newly installed 4 speed conversion and obviously doing some high perfromance driving it kind of contradicts some of the other reports that these badger pistons will break with hard driving. Seems to me that his motor can take quite a beating with those pistons...if in fact the specs in the article are correct, so if you see this please chime and and tell of your experience with the badger +.040 390 pistons. I certainly don't plan to baby my 343 after this rebuild. My other plans that I have discussed with my builder are to rifle drill the oil passages to get more oil to the bearings, will probably have the block drilled for 1/2" head bolts since he has already done this to his own 390 and has the right tools that he fabbed to do it properly, also decided that I might go with a Reed hydraulic flat tappet rather than a roller. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
