Wish that Spirit was closer to home. I think my Gremmie needs some
company. I took him to the largest annual car show in Louisville
today. It is sponsored by the Louisville Street rod association. They
are celebrating there 25th annual car show this year. Just think
Gremmie was brand new when it started. Who would have thought he
would
be in it now. It is a two day event held in one of our local parks.
There were around 1200 cars there and they expect it to be over 1500
tomorrow. Yea your right I had the only Gremlin. Actually unless they
were hidden somewhere I had the only AMC car there. There usually
are
a few Javelins and AMX's but I didn't see a one today maybe they will
be there tomorrow. A few smart asses but 95% great remarks. When I
was leaving I had to pass by a tent that have 5 or 6 guys giving
number ratings out for each car that passed. Guys had too much time
and too much beer on there hands. The cards looked too professional.
Gremmie got a 10 two 8's a ur my man and a 2. The guy with a 2 said
he
would give me a 10 if it had a faucet for the keg. Got to go. Have
to
get up early in the morning. The thing starts at 8 and when I got
there at 8. It took me almost an hour to get in.

I understand !

There was a Lister here earlier this Summer in Canada
that was moaning for a Gremlin in Canada - wonder
where he went ?

Nice Going on the 'Only AMC' and 'Only Gremlin'
Award ! ........(just awarded to you by Me!)

It is Obvious that the AMX is the 'Favi' of the
Factory Super Car AMC set - but it seems
that the Gremlin brings the most Recognition :)

I've finally made my move - purchased a V8 K
member from a 1971 SC 360 Hornet - Lister
Russ Hathaway in Oregon did the Honors in
a local salvage yard - $125.00 . Shipping
brought it out to $153.00 - very agreeable
as I only found one other for $250.00 w/o
shipping - and NOT an Original SC 360 Item.

Now comes the 'Find the 401' fun .

One lead on an AMC 'guy' in Upstate New York -
gotta' make 'that call' & get the news .

I have located the Lock Up Torqueflite I'll
use behind this - a 727 - as building a 998
that will survive 10 or more years without
rebuilding would cost about the same as the
401 .........

Located and bought the front Grille Support
from a 1978 Gremlin in Calif . - nice shape and
no rust . This will allow the installation of the
1978 AMX Grille I've 'In Stock' and is to be
restored this Winter . I believe there is one
company that has the Rivets used on these
Grilles - the Stainless will be polished - is otherwise
straight & the Grille Screen will be Plated in either
Chrome or Black Chrome - haven't decided yet .

One thought I've been resisting has been to use
the Round Turn Signal 1973 only Hornet Grille -
it looks pretty close to the 1970 AMX unit ......
decisions - decisions..........

Still looking for a *Nice* Targa Roof Wrap off a
'77-'78 AMX or the '79 Concord Hatchback .
