Gary, This is Gary 'The Mix' from Cleveland, Ohio. Welcome to the group, and 
don't worry about Bart. He's really an all American kind of guy. I did the 
sbc thing to my Gremlin too (back in 1980) with a Muncie 4-speed and it still 
runs great. The most difficult thing was the clutch linkage and just this 
past summer I converted it over to a hydlaulic setup with a remote reservoir, 
now I don't need to go to the gym twice a week to work-out my left leg. Just 
kidding, but it sure is easier to use and opens up that space for the exhaust 
pipe/headers. Good luck with your new project.
