engine and tranny swap

Hi all,
I've got a '78 with the Audi 2 liter. The three speed leaks ATF all over,
but I found a 401 with transmission - it's out of a Cherokee Chief. Has
anyone tried this 'conversion'? I was just wondering what thoughts were on
this idea.
