http://www.liclassiccars.com/Newsletter/Oct11.html I sent the Long Island Classic Club newsletter a article back in middle of summer and they were nice enough to print it, was talking about the heat here in middle of worst drought in Texas history. There is another article worth mentioning here too is that the Bastrop fire west of us about 1 1/2 hours, burned over 1500 homes and dozens of square miles....many people lost everything in the worst.....wildfire in Texas history. Ever. And with that there was a place over there I had dealt with that had HUNDREDS of classic cars. They are all skeletal burned remains now. Burned up. With a wildfire you have NO time to do anything. At least with tornado you have a warning most times, with a hurricane you have time to prepare. Not with wildfire it moved super fast and many people turned farm animals loose letting them go any direction except way fire was headed. Coupled with changing winds, it kept firefighters off guard most of time, so many people escaped with nothing but clothes on back and pets. If I find some of the photos of the old cars torched will send them. Anyways the small little article above was written during the time of wildfires summer 2011. As for long island, not sure where it is at, but think it is near Oklahoma border with Arkansas there..
