Re: [BaadAssGremlins] 77 hornet AMX

Hi Hal,
I was at Sheppard in 71to72 and again from 75 to 79. I went through the city a couple of years ago and almost got lost it had changed so much! The most memorable event was the tornado on April 10  1979 that was the reason we left in June when i was discharged. There wasn't a place to rent within 40 miles of the city and of course we were in base housing .  So Denver bound again, I liked the city and the people but the weather was @!#$^%!@

David,
You must have been at Sheppard when I got there with my 1974 purple Gremlin X.

Glad to get a couple of responses to my question about the 77 hornet AMX. I bought mine new in Wichita Falls Tx.> It was the only one they sold in 77 or 78 It came with the 304 Auto the. 304 was never approved of sale at high altitude strange ( i'm in Denver Co.)! I had a 360 auto in it until 03 when i found a 401 It was repainted but the engine compartment wasn't done, stripped it all out for the painter. I tricked up the 401 a bit wiating for the painter, finally i gave up and came to the conclusion that all he was interested in was his dope. I am hoping to be able to go back to it this winter and get it ready for the shows next summer. In 77 you could get the car with any engine at a dealership in Arizona I think it was Randall Motors. The last time i had it in a show it was surprising But the folks 30 and under were the ones that really liked it, I guess it was ahead of its time?  If anyone has questions about them let me know I have followed them since 76 when they were first seen.

I have one, it is a 304 V8 4 speed car, but it is badly rusted, I'm using it as a parts car only.  I do have the title and I will save the VIN tag, in case I want to clone it, if I every fine a rust free body cheap.

I am just wondering if anyone else has one of these. Probably one of the oddest cars AMC made but,it still turns heads any time someone see mine.
