Speaking of which...when Paige & me went ot Las Vegas back in 1990s, in
July (dumbazz award) we would come out of casino at 3-4 in morning and on top of
Sahara ther is a clock/temp sign and it was 101 degrees. We went out to Hoover
dam and it was 132 degrees, your eyes burn, throat hurts too. At the place we
stayed, the hotel had golf carts in parking garage that would drive around and
give people jumps 24 hours. We had a brand new Chevy Corsica(?) with less than
1000 miles on it and would not start, heat drained it. The guys said they did
about 100 cars a day, from low end to high end like Lexus, didn't matter heat
was brutal. There was no humidity like here it was 'a dry heat'.
Dry heat, hell it was hot. There were misters all over patios and around
decks also giving slight relief with fine mist. In afternoon wind would pick up
and it was like a dust storm you could see down towards downtown, Premont street
big brown cloud moving westward, so we went inside another casino not knowing it
it was moving our way or not. Could not even see the Stratsosphere thru
dust.
