Ed, many of the gas stations here run E85, and I have used it in my 72
Ambassador SST, 68 Rebel convertible 401, 74 Javelin 304, and all 4 Eagles: 81,
82 and both 88s. About only complaint is that with the later model Eagles, you
tend to get some yellow residue around and inside the carb. Not pollen, just E85
spuuge. So once a month I take a can of carb cleaner and blast it out, no
problems. While more expensive gas, the Eagles seem to like the Chevron Techron,
at least the ones with Holley or Carter carbs. However, with Tomco carbs, they
like anything you burn; my 82 Eagle has 210,000 miles or so on it, you could run
chili or swampwater or Grey Goose in it. Sorry, Grey Goose is expensive would be
about $360 to fill tank.
No affect in performance and getup either, but I can you that if stuck in
traffic, E85 can knock you out with the fumes.
