RE: [BaadAssGremlins] Eagle questions

I have a 1973 Hornet 2 door sedan 258 with 904 automatic (2wd – rear wheel drive) and get 16-19 MPG with it.  The Eagle is 4WD and has the 258 and the 4WD version of the 904 (999?).  So, I would think it would be slightly less MPG.  Hope that helps.  I have three parts Eagle wagons so if you need stuff for the wipers please let me know.

Thanks,

LUke, Eagles are newa dn under appreciated like many AMCs. As for driving it daily, you could not get a better vehicle for any area of country you live in. I have 4 Eagles and drive several of them daily, my white 82 has 210,000 miles on it, and Paige will be getting home soon in her 88 Eagle, and later I have to go up to FedEx and ship some stuff out and will be taking the 81 Eagle, which is a rare 4cyl, 4spd, and gets whopping 25-29mpg.

As for the linkage wiper motor, you might check that out, as I had trouble on Paige's 88, but the old man who owned it tried to rewire the wiper motor and had some wires crossed, I fixed them and works great although no more delay

I had a guy come in to work the other day and offered me an Eagle he wanted to sell.

It is a blue '85 wagon with 75k on its 6 banger and auto. He told me he bought it from the proverbial old lady and since then has put $3500 into it. He said it needed wiper linkage and he'd sell it to me for $1000. It has been stored most of its life and has hardly any rust.

I was wondering what anyone on the group thought if I should get it or not. I already have 3 other vehicles on the road, my Hornet, an F150 and a Buick Century. The Buick is is my daily driver and is getting tired so I am looking for a replacement. I was wondering what I would expect for mileage, since it would be my daily driver. I commute about 50 miles a day to work and back and travel between 15 and 20 thousand miles a year.

I just thought Id try the group for some input.      Thanks                              Luke
