I too want to express my sympathies, Henry.
You seem to have a good outlook on the loss but I know from my own mother
that even when you know what is coming and that the end will be a relief, it is still one of lifes hardest blows.
Keep the good memories alive and share them with others who are grieving.  In time the hurt fades to an ache but those good memories never diminish.
