They handle a little rough but for the look I get on these originals I wouldn't change them for anything. In fact for years now I have scoured the Internet for a good set of 4 original Goodyear RWL polyglas tires (D70x14). If anyone knows of a set, please let me know and I will buy them in an instant > > You guys still running bias tires on your cars. How old are those tires? I figure the one I have for a spare is 25 years old. You guys make me feel a lot better about using it for a spare. Maybe I will rethink buying new tires for it period. Nope they are getting too many cracks in them and I don't feel very safe driving on them besides if I wait too long I will spend the money I have set aside for them > Terry > > --- On Thu, 6/18/09, Hal <strlcuckoo_46@...> wrote: > > > From: Hal <strlcuckoo_46@...> > Subject: Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Rims > To: BaadAssGremlins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Date: Thursday, June 18, 2009, 5:32 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > thats me on my '70 also. > Hal > > Lost in Wichita Falls, TX > > --- On Wed, 6/17/09, henry williams <rwexpress05@ yahoo.com> wrote: > > > From: henry williams <rwexpress05@ yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Rims > To: BaadAssGremlins@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 11:46 PM > > > > > > > > > geeze youguys are making me envious i am still running the 13 " bias ply tires on mine ..henry in ct. > > --- On Tue, 6/16/09, Todd Tomason <jayscore@everestkc. net> wrote: > > > From: Todd Tomason <jayscore@everestkc. net> > Subject: Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Rims > To: BaadAssGremlins@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 5:19 PM > > > > > > I've used a number of Ford rims, and have always had to bore out the center hole slightly to get them to fit. The 15's on my son's Matador came off of a mid-90's Crown Vic. My Spirit and Javelin both have mini-spares from a Mercury Marquis. > > If you stay with 14's, it's getting pretty hard to find decent tires. The standard 215/70R15 are a little tall in the front for my 80 Spirit but they got me through a season. Ford, Dodge, Mopar, I think even Nissan, toyota? It is 5 bolts on 4.5" center. or 5 on 4.5 The only issue you may run into is the hub hole size some fords are slightly smaller. I personally have never come across this. > Davis > > > --- On Mon, 6/15/09, Terry Atkins <twa1950@yahoo. com> wrote: > > > From: Terry Atkins <twa1950@yahoo. com> > Subject: [BaadAssGremlins] Rims > To: BaadAssGremlins@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Monday, June 15, 2009, 9:31 PM > > > > > > > > > Do any other manufacturers rims fit on the Gremlin. I was looking at my tires the other day and decided I am going to buy me a new set in the very near future. The tires that are on it have plenty of tread left but I know they are at least 16 years old maybe 20. I am just going with the same size that is on it. Thought about getting wider tires but I really don't see the need for them with that power house I have under the hood. My problem is my spare. It is a D78 Bias type tire. Could be one of the original tires on the car but it probably is one of the second set of tires that was on the car. I don't want to get rid of it. It is a conversation piece. While it holds air I don't know if I would really want to put it on the car and drive on it. Then again with four new tires I really shouldn't have to worry about a flat and in the slim chance I did since I never drive more than 30 miles from home I could take the back roads and never get over 30 MPH.
