Subject: [BaadAssGremlins] New To Forum - New Owner of a 1973 Gremlin X Levis Edition :)

Hey everyone :)
I had an invite from Luinda to join here, and i'm sure glad i was asked.
I am so excited with all the positive feedback i have got since i
purchased my new car last thursday.

I am the new proud owner of a 1973 AMC Gremlin X, Levi's Edition. It
has a factory original 304 V8 with a 3 spreed manual transmission. I
believe it might be posi-track too, but not 100% sure. (all VIN #
matched for original motor etc)

I stumbled across this old girl in the junk yard on the way to being
crushed for scrap metal. The guy who owned the lot didn't care about
any of his old cars and i rescued her for a mere 700$ cash and a sweet
smile ;). I took a dive or a gamble should i say because i did not
know if this gremlin's engine could be rebuild or run for that matter.
I couldn't even get the doors open because she was so sunk into the
ground from sitting.

She was towed and i investigated on my own time only to be quite
pleased with the condition. The body has no dents or holes, and i
recently ripped out all the carpet and found only 2 holes in the
floor. The rear hatch glass and the windshield are smashed because of
stupid kids throwing rocks, but its a fairly easy replacement. The
interior is immaculate except for a tear in the drivers seat. It took
2 days to start the car only needing an obvious tune up ( wires,
plugs, oil ) and a new starter/battery and we rebuilt the alternator (
did you know they have Motorola alternators?? wtf? ) I live in the
middle of no where northern Canada, and i am pretty sure this is the
ONLY gremlin here in city or province for that matter... parts are
EXTREMELY difficult to find.

We took her for an illegal test drive once started and she lays rubber
on the ground no problem. Everything runs like new, and i'm AMAZED. It
will be a complete restore project back to factory, i don't have plans
of changing the engine out of this one because its so rare to find. I
believe only 11, 000 or so were made in 1973.

These are links to photos from the junk yard , and a video her her
first start up.. SO nice. I am very impressed, i hope you all enjoy too.
