Saw a 1968 Rambler American 2 door sedan on a scrap trailer today. It
is one i had seen setting next to a barn for several years. Figured
the guy didn't want to sell it cause it kept getting moved farther
from the road every couple of years. WAS a real good car till the tin
worm got the floors and 1/4 panels. Front clip is perfect!!! Left door
is great/right door got scraped a little by the trailer fender.
Hood/trunk are great also! I wanted to buy/bring it home to strip all
useable parts. Wife said NOOOO...remember our neighbor that calls the
cops all the time if i even jack up a car and remove wheels for ONE
DAY!! ????? CRAP!! So the junk man is supposed to pull the
hood/trunk/maybe fenders for me before hauling it to the crusher
tomorow. Wish i had seen a couple of days sooner. He would have let me
strip all good parts for CHEAP!! The 6 cylinder is supposed to run
great! Any market for those? Or any of the body parts i mentioned? He
wanted $400 for the car. Thats what is is worth as scrap here in
Illinois. $280 per ton!!! NO wonder ALL the old cars are drying up
around here and going to CHINA!! SAD....joe
