Just go on ebay and get the one on there for 139.00 from alterstart. Works great we have used them for 10 yrs now. Search amc starter.

It doesn't matter if its for a 290 or a 401 they all fit.What you need is a high torque starter and Milodon and a few companies make them for the 290-304.343.360.390 & 401 engines. google some jeep parts sites and i'm sure you'll find on on there that or Summit or Jegs may have them for AMC V8's
