Cool,  that does work.

I did something like that with my thermostat housing.

It was cold out, so I set it on our wood stove to let it warm up. I spray bombed it and set it back on the stove and it came out quite nice. It looks different than the rest of my engine.

Sorry I used Chrysler blue.  Now that I am more motivated to work on my Hornet  I'll try to get some AMC blue and re detail my engine compartment.
