I could never get my tranny to mount 100% properly either.. i'm using a 727 behind a 360. even with flipping the actual rubber mount around (it was too high otherwise) it still only wanted to mount cock-eyed.

I've run it like that for 3 years, but it still bugs me.

There are 2 sets of mounting holes in the frame rail on your gremlin. One is for the 6 cyl setup and the other is for the v-8.
