Re: [BaadAssGremlins] things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm.............

I completely understand what you are saying. The ones I love the best are the ones that don't even have their tags yet and show them with temporary tags on them. No I don't consider them show cars. Then again Charlie there are bunch of guys out there that are finding or having someone else find them Mustang, Chevy or what ever bodies and taking them to restorers who do the whole car for them. They never touch them either so there is not much different one from a dealer or one from a restorer. They just pay for them. When I first started going to shows I used to go to a quite a few that charged an entry fee and judged the cars and you won trophy's. I quit going to them because I saw I lot of cars in worst shape than mine win trophies. Unless it is a cause I just want to donate too I only go to the cruse ins now with no entry fee.  Some give trophies but they say it is just what the kids like or their wives like. No big deal. Around here there is a freebie every Friday and Saturday night. Most draw  100 or 200 cars but we have one that has been pulling in over 500 cars. I get most of my reaction from the people off the street who just come to see the cars rather than the car people. I just go to get out the house and to bring enjoyment to the people who either owned one , best friend owned one or the only place I ever saw one was on TV.  I even like being ask what is it.

The wife and I took the Gremlin and Pacer to a show today. I was assigned to the modified '72 to current class. Look at this photo and see the car I'm parked next to - a brand new Mustang worth more than my house. Of course, the motor head judges chose his car. Now, I ain't normally a sore looser, but I was surrounded by cars that folks spent many hours restoring and put their heart and soul into - just as I did. This kid takes daddy's money to the Ford dealer, plops down 60K, (or more?) drives to the show and wins a freaking trophy. For every two of the spectators that looked at his car, 5 looked at mine. What kind of crap is that? Does anyone else experienced this, or even bothered by this crap? Why the hell are these cars even at the show? If they have to be there, put them in a corner away from restored vehicles. OK, enough of my social commentary.........
