(Or are they the same engine?)Thanks!Still learning - CharlieAMC 360,the Mopar 360 is sub par compared to the AMC 360 i mean Mopar used the AMC Head design for their Magnum motors As fa as I know only 3 auto companies made a '360' Ford which is an FE family motor,Mopar which is the LA block and AMC.the 290,343,390,304,360 & 401 AMV V8's all 1966-1991 are the same block externally, AMC just beefed up the bottom end and bored and stroked their way from 290-401. since you plan on going with a mild set up,basically all the goodies you have on the 304 will fit the 360 i.e valve covers intake timing cover pan.and of course getting a 360 flexplate you can even use it on your existing trans. Providing the 360 is a 72-91 as 71 and earlier 360's were mated to BW autos and the end of the cranks different. Bart
