Speaking of seats reupholstered, I just had my 71 SC/360 seats redone. Originally light blue, they are now black with red, white and blue inserts, quike striking! About $750 to have them done, has new springs, padding, and what not, but really beautiful, can't wait to get my carpet kit in to put seats in the damned thing.

Hi have enclosed here a few photos from the big dealer binder which shows different patterns. Something you can toy with idea also is since you have 78, there were four different colors of Levis seats available for Gremlin and Concord. Blue, tan, black and red. You can get this material at many hobby shops in rolls, also they sell the authentic Levi's buttons.

If nothign else this gives you (and Terry?) and anyone else here some good photos of what lines looked like in 1978 Gremlin. Armed with this (and other photos, possibly in the 78 AMC Color Catalog)

you can take to reputable auto interior upholstery shop and have them duplicate it closely.

Hi Tony, here is some photos from the 2 foot x 1 foot huge AMC 78 Product Information Book. This was the large book Salsemen had to show a prospect choices at the dealership. Ther were other like Data Book,s Group 15 Accessory Catalogs and others, but this was the main one whihc could usually answer a prospective buyer's questions quickly; whether paint, or if they wanted to actually feel the interior chips in vinyl or cloth.

It appears that there were four colors available on a last year Gremlin. While not all of them available with a black car, as Charlie poijnted out, most probable gold, white, and hmmm.

I think they were gold. (The only colors available that would work on black were white or gold.) Here is a photo in a different color.
