Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: nos gremlin grille

My point exactly down below as to where AMCers may or may not be. Some still
have the luxury(?) in 2006 of having spare items around to fix up their
particular vehicles. Some items are outright obsolete no matter where one
might be at or how many meets they can attend. Yes others feel there is a
bottom less pit of AMC items out there that will always be available.
Unfortunately not so, as in the last 10 years we have seen a tremendous
amount of sheetmetal, glass and chrome destroyed or lost forever. Right
behind it is plastics like grills, turn lamps and stop lamps, dashes,a nd
right up there in same group is stainless moldings like drip rail moldings.
I sold my last set of drip rail 68-70 AMX moldings last year for $200 per
side. Tough to get of safely, tough to reinstall safely.

Yes, sometimes people actually need the items, other times sheer
speculation, but that is nothing new, even back in the 1980s people were
buying stuff for resell like Rally Packs. It is capitalism nothing more
whether we like it or not. It still goes on and like cannibalism of AMCs,
happens. I mentioned here a few months ago I talked to a major west coast
vendor who bluntly told me "we can't buy them quick enough" (to part them
out) talking about AMC vehicles.

And so it goes!
