Too bad he never paid attention to his history...Ford, GM, and Mousepar all sold factory built racecars (not street legal) back in the 60's and early 70's. All 3 of the big boys backed out of the NHRA due to the fact that the local boys were going down to their AMC dealerships and buying street legal, daily driver AMCs, driving them to the track, switching to slicks, and smoking the factory racecars and then driving home.

As for ricers.....I use a stock, worn out 258 IL6 w/ a 1 bbl carb, slipping tranny and a broke rearend to beat them.
