Re: [BaadAssGremlins] 401 pump gas update

Well last night My son was just comming home as I was beginning to type so I had to run.
My 401 I have been slaveing over every spare moment all summer was broken in on the engine dyno last night. I was working so I called to get  an update at 3:30 and it had been broken in was running fine and the inner valve springs were being installed. They run a shop carb to be sure of trouble free breakin period. That carb is a holley 830 cfm. So he called me back at 530 pm and had made a first pull with the timming set at 35 degrees and only brought the revs up to 6000 and it made 520 HP( my goal was 500) keep in mind it is 10.39:1 compression and running on sonnoco ultra 93 octaine. This was with the indy intake which I had done some port work to the plennum and gasket matched the intake runner ports.
Today I am going over and we will play with different carbs and try carb spacers and change intakes and swap header sizes. If I have time I will be testing a ported and airgapped torker and I have the Herman Lewis intake that has been port matched to the heads.
Now I am REALLY gonna have rear suspension issues!
