Believe me Charlie I would bet it has somthing to do with the Motorola alt. That was why I installed the switch in the first place as I too was tired of pulling the battery cable every time I parked the car over night. The Delco cured my problem. "Doc" Yahoo! It does not sound too complicated. I have a slow drain on the battery from something and I'll be damned if I can find it. I am tiring of disconnecting the battery after every run. So, I'll put the switch in and find the short at a later time. Charlie

Take your time it is not complicated. I go into great detail because not
knowing the mechanical knowledge of the person asking the question. I
try to cover everything. Being a professional mechanic some things are
simple to me but difficult to others. Wiring in new components is not a
problem for me. Trouble shooting electrical problems has never been my
forte. I still have to fix my gas gauge and dome light. But sooner or
later I will fix them.
