| The Matador 'Machine' needed complete restoration for being a 46,000
original mile car. It was basically in same shape the 71 Matador Machine was in
when I took photos of it for sale in Union Grove in 1988. But this one needed
trunk pan, both lower 1/4 and some minor rust work around front, but nothing
that to me at least, was serious. I go thru AMCs like most people change
panties, it is why I have had 326 of them so far. Some for as short as 1 1/2
huors and resell, others hang around like my 68 Rebel convertible 'Machine'
since the early 1980s, but I do not get attached to any of them. The 71 SC/360 I
am frustrated with as no one sells four speed carpet kits for Hornet/Gremlin and
i have called them all. That is my hold up on finishing this interior, but have
worked around that in the meantime. Just find other stuff to do. If it sells,
fine, if not, that fine also. I'm considering parting out this 74 Hornet Sportabout wagon, which would
bea shame, but zero interest from anyone on it in more than 3 years now, I have
kind of resigned to the fact it is worth more apart than whole! The black pice
of dung AMX I sold on ebay a few months ago the guy stiffed me on, lots of
promises but enver paid, I relisted, he got kicked off ebay for no/pay strike,a
nd I relisted it, now that buyer is welshing and has not paid in month so today
I gave him ultimatum, send total $455/change within one week or it is relisted,
so that saga continues, so much for everythign sells on fee bay theory! And the Brickly. My 74 Bricklin is still sitting here, at least that fellow
continues to pay on it and it should be gone this year to Nebraska, he has two
others. But no, sometimes the projects do stall, other time I abandon ship,
other times stay the course on these old aMCs! __._,_.___
