Besides I dont know crap about them. My preference is Clifford Performance. I am not sure if the Clifford header will work with the offenhauser intake. They have changed the style of their headers. I have the "old school" long tube headers on my Gremlin. The long tube do produce more tourqe then the shorties that they have now. But the only problem with the long tube design is ground clearence problems. I only have about 3 inches of ground clearence with the long tube design, speed bumps are a pain and some of them do make a scrape. NO MATTER HOW SLOW YOU GO OVER THEM!! I ended up welding a skid plate on the very lowest tubes and I have had the collector welded up once before. You have a good carb in the Holley 390. I have also had the Carter 400 spread bore and it was a pain to work on. Metering rods where easy to replace but the jets themselves are a pain. The whole top of the carb has to come off to replace jets. The Holley is easier to work on. The 4.0 head is a good choice. It flows way better then the 258 and Clifford does make a complete kit, head, gaskets ect. Not sure if the offey will fit the 4.0. Good luck on the turbo. I have also heard of super chargers on inlines also, but I dont know about an AMC. Building a 300 horse inline can be done, but its very expensive. It costs more for all the speed goodies then a V-8. If I had known what it was going to cost to do mine, I would of swapped a V-8. But I have too much money and time into mine to tear it out and redo it....again. It is kind of fun to beat up on the stock V-8's and the sound of a screemin' inline.... theres nothing like it. Good luck, let us all know how things go!! Bill ID. Yahoo!
