ok guys i have a problem, with rising gas prices keepin the grem on the road is a hassle since im only getting like 7 mpg, so once i get a job what im going to do is find a car that gets good fuel milage, the only problem is i dont know whats good or wats bad, i would pefer ford but saturn, nissan, and toyota would work, i dont know any others atm lol to tired, but what ones could i get for under 10k used and that get decent milage AT LEAST 15-17.
Last fall I bought a '90 Ford Festiva, designed by Mazda, but built in Korea, sold by Ford. That makes it a Kim-Chi er not a ricer. Gets 35-40mpg in town, 45+ on the road. Cost me $500, but that was before the gas prices went through the roof. Just turned over 150k. Runs/drives great. Just a puddle-jumper, but that's all I expect from it. My neighbor has a 1982 Nissan Sentra that is rusting into the ground but runs great. A throw-away car, but he only wants $200 for it.

I bought my first car ( a '47 Pontiac) in 1959. I've owned American cars, German cars, English cars, French cars (talk about POS,) Swedish cars, Korean cars, Italian cars, and even a Yugo. I've had about a dozen well used, high miles, Jap cars over the last 30 years. Nearly all of them were damn good cars. Why do we have to hate ricers? The absolute worst thing you can say is that some of them are cookie-cutter dull. That doesn't make them bad cars. People hate ricers out of ignorance, prejudice, racism, or jealousy. The Jap car companies came in to our house, and kicked our butts. We hate that, of course, the same way we would hate a Jap baseball team that legitimately won the World Series.

I'm forced (by eminent domain) to sell some land to the govt this year. I'll end up with a bunch of money, and I'm gonna look at buying a new or near new car. I'll consider anything, but I'll look at American makes first. I want a midsize sedan (Camry, Malibu, Accord, Taurus size) I don't want a 4 cylinder or an automatic. I don't want an SUV or any kind of truck. I want a stick shift, 4-door sedan, and I want some power. I'll probably spend between 20 and 30K. So come on Detroit, let's see you give those Japs (and Germans, Swedes, and Koreans) some competition.

but regarding the grem i am thinking about just taking it down to the farm and drive it down there, hunting vehicle lol or i may sell it, but i wont get what i would want for it, would u think 5k is good for it?
If you expect to get 5k for any Gremlin, that car better be turn-key and damn close to perfect. And probably a V-8. Much better to find a good old car guy mechanic and spend a few hundred bucks to fix it, and keep it yourself.

the paint is chipping for some reason but its in good shape, new shocks, new alt, new psteering pump, needs a pinion seal (rear), according to the odometer its got 83850 miles, what you guys think
