Scott. 1971-74 Jav/AMX rears are WAY WAY wider!!About 3"-3 1/2"  if i 
remember correctly. A 68-70 Jav/AMX rear "should" bolt right in.I 
think! Correct me if i'm wrong Davis? I just sold a NICE New Mexico 
CLEAN 3.54 geared 69 Jav rear last sumer. Where are you located. Might
