Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Converting from 2bbl to 4bbl carb

Doc's right.....the kick down is a MUST with TF tranny.....it is not a
real problem if you use a Lokar cable as I did on my Spirit....
you will have to come up with a bracket......when I got it a it had a
rod from the tranny to the carb.....my carb is mounted fore and aft vice
sideways...so it is easier....there was no adjustment with the rod....it
does however add $50 + dollars to your cost...
soon as I get a chance I will take a picture and post it in my
folder.......I have the Clifford intake..long tube split header and a Holley
390 carb....Crane H-260-2 cam and the head was milled ( .060 ) a bit
much.....I did not build it .... bought as is....total cost five
years ago was over $1300 just for parts.......If I were building a
street car today I would go with the Offenhauser dual port intake....Holley
390 or Edelbrock 500 carb ( or a Carter AFB 4bl from a 290V8
)....Clifford short tube header ( or a long tube header from e-bay)...a
little smaller
cam and only mill the head as needed..(.it might be cheaper to buy a
used Jeep header and modify it to fit).....that way you should be able
to run regular gas.....Jim
