Chebby 2.8L is correct. 4.0L is no longer used in Jeeps. 
They went with a Mopar 3.7L V6.

Sorry bout that. It is a chevy 2.8L, carbed not injected. In 87 they 
went to the 4.0L in line 6 that is currently in the jeeps. MN Bob
