YEPPERS!! I myself is a trucker! About 3 years ago I was South of Salt Lake Shitty. That was the very last place that I saw a Gremlin (early model) goin' on down the road. And that was the ONLY ONE in about 4 years of over the road long haul driving that I had the privelage of seeing. EVER! AND WE ARE KINDA CRAZY! YA GOTTA BE TO DO THAT KIND OF A JOB. Away from home for weeks on end, putting up with stoopid drivers, bad directions, getting lost in a 40 ton 75 foot tractor trailer, driving on roads where YOU KNOW your not sappossed to be.... YEPPERS!! JUST PLAIN OL' CRAZY! THATS ME!! CRAZY ABOUT THEM DARNED AMC'S Bill Id. :)

Yeah, those truck drivers a wee bit crazy. We had a trucker follow us 2 exits past his just to get a look at my friend's '76 Sportabout. He even knew which year it was without asking. A TRUE AMCer at heart!!All the upgrades and modifications I did on my yellow Hornet over the
30+ years I did to my orange one and then some when I bought it. The
yellow car still has that crap 35 amp Motorola alt and the orange one
has a 100 amp Delco. I installed a manual choke kit like the yellow car.
Them Carter carbs automatic chokes stink. The manual one I put in the
yellow car has worked for 30 years. The new one I installed in the
orange car 1 1/2 years ago is sticking and mind you the car sat for 11
months of that time in my friends shop. The hole in the backealite choke
cover is so big that the choke shaft wobbles back and forth. Is there no
quality any more? The choke kit cost 12$ and I had to have a bushing
made to fix it that took my friend at his machine shop an hour to make
and cost me 25$. He drilled out the hole in the backalite cover to fit
the bushing and I an going to glue it in with JB Weld today. On a good
note it was so warm yesterday I decided to try the A/C in the orange
car. It didn't work when I bought it. This spring will be 2 years my
friend added a sealer dye and charged it up for me for free. I haven't
used it since and it works. I still have the gas gauge and courtesy
light to get working. The wooden jig is made to hold the grill for its
repair and re-finishing. The wife is still giving me hell about car
parts in the house. I can't go anywhere with the orange car without it
getting some kind of attention. A truck driver chased me across the
supermarket parking lot on foot just to look at the car. He said he
hasn't seen one of them in years. :-)
