Like I have always said I would rather be one of the few than one of the many. Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a nice car and all the work that went into it no matter what brand it is. I always have even when the brand "X" boy's were ragging on me for the make of car I drive for 40+ years. Now the shoe is on the other foot. They now drive a cookie cutter mediocre car's and I drive somthing special. I just got a compliment on the interior job today from a friend of the shop owner that I did the interior job at. He saw it when it was trash and now almost 99% finished. I am sending the car pic's to Bart in the morning to post for me. Had the car out this afternoon for another drive as it is 50 degrees here in N.Y. and dry. Sorry but driving one of my Hornet's is better than "SEX", besides when you shut the key off it shuts off and I don't have to hear the Wha Wha Wha voice from Charlie Brown's teacher ringing in my ear. :-))))) Not that I pay attention. "The Chevelle owner was pissed because the Hornet got more attention than
his SS."
True anywhere. Sometimes the FM1960 Street Meet on Saturday nights here in
Houston will have hundreds of cars, and yes, lots of little ricers,a nd well
the usual array of Mustang's, but the cars that people are constantly around
and checking out are those seldome ever seen at meets and in that case,
usually means a AMC will get a number of looks. Can't tell you how many
times i have been the lone AMC driver at this cruise night and whether I am
driving the 68 Rebel convertible 'Machine' or one of my other sleds, always
draws a crowd, whether driving up, or parking, or after parking, people
gravitate to the AMC whatever it is, and most are curious and ask questions.
Sometimes I'll open hood, and get my display signboard out of the trunk and
put it on the easle in front of the car with all the info. Some want to buy
a aMC, of which I send them to my website's "amc classifieds" and "SUAD"
lists. But always good to hear many of the nice comments at mixed make
cruises.
