Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Goin' with the wife, and notvice-versa...

Hey Terry I don't remember if they have a daily driver class at the AMO
show's. Your Gremlin should qualify for that. Due to health reasons and
other problems I only attended the Ardsley AMC Show and no cruise nights
last year. The previous year 1 week after I bought the orange Hornet I
took it to the local cruise night that I had attended since 2000. I
hadn't even cleaned it up, it had the dull paint the ratty interior,
almost bald tires and the !#$%^& Motorola alt.failed on the way home. It
was parked between a mint 69 Chevelle SS 396 and a blown big block 39
Chevy coupe. The Chevelle owner was pissed because the Hornet got more
attention than his SS. That's what you get for driving a cookie cutter
car. I can't wait for the crowd at that cruise to see what it looks like
now after all the time and money I put into it in the last 2 years. It
really is a sharp car if I must pat myself on the back. Bart the pic's
will be in the mail tomorrow for you to post for me. Terry by all means
take the Gremlin if you can.

--- Begin Message --- I guess I should re-phrase that and say cruises. The ones I go to you might see
a $75,000 street rod sitting next to a I wonder how that thing got here car. I
go to very few where they charge an entry fee and judge the cars. I learn a
long time ago you don't have much chance of winning anything if you have an
AMC. So take your car and go and have fun. Oh yea Doc, I went the AMC
convention in 1999 when it was in St Louis. I didn't take my Gremlin and spent
the whole time saying I wish I would have. This years in Dayton Ohio about 150
miles away. I think the Gremmie will make it that far. I think I will just have
it in the display cat. It needs to much work to be a show car. Your right
everyone should go to at least one in there life.

Your right Jerry most of the time it is the same cars but you never know. I
know last summer at the beginning of the season I saw a 1930 something pre VW.
When I first saw it I thought it was an old VW in mint condition until I
started looking. The headlights were on top of the fenders, it was a
convertible but it slid on rails like the old Nash. It sported a Mercedes Benz
name tag with Mercedes hub caps. The biggest thing was instead of the air
cooled engine it had a water cooled 4 banger flat head back there. He had a
magazine article with it and it said it was one of 4 or 5 built before Hitler
had I think around 30 built for the SS. The guy said he got it when he was in
Germany with the army. I never saw it again. If I keep going I might see one
of those illusive cars make by AMC in the 70's. What were they called. Gremlin
I think. If anyone around here is going to see one it will be mine. In the 9
years I have been going I have never seen another.
