RE: [BaadAssGremlins] AMC Coverage On Speed Channel Friday

I guess John I was not the only one to see the sham show the driver put
on, but I doubt seriously the the Big 3 fans would have even noticed as
long as a Camero or other GM or Pford or Mopar product won and was not
beaten by a so to speak Rambler. I watched the show for 2 years and
enjoyed it and the quality work they seem to do. One thing I didn't and
still don't is the way they make fun of the co-host insulting him is a
fat idiot. After the second year of the show I sent an E-Mail to the
dream Car Garage's web site and suggested nicely that they try somthing
more difficult than buying all repo parts and doing a car. Somthing like
an AMX, Javelin, Machine or SC/Rambler ot a SC360 Hornet. I got not a
peep out of them and as of late really never watch the show any more.
They don't really work on cars any more but for 5 minutes of the show
and show road tests on cars we could never afford. One thing that is
true was said on the two American Muscle Car shows is that there is no
loyaler fans to their cars than AMC fans. I have been looked down on,
talked behind my back about and disrespect for over 40 years about my
AMC habbit and have endured. I am to old to change now and would not
ever for all the COPO Camero's, Yenko's, Boss 302's, Boss 429 this and
Z-28 that Hurst Olds or a W-30, GTO Judge's (Gas Tires & Oil) My orange
Hornet is sandwiched between a 68 Camero on one side and a 69 Firebird
on the other side in my friends shop. I'll keep my Hornet's over both of
these cookie cutter cars. Got to go now as the wife is going out and I
have some AMC parts to put in the walk in AMC parts closet while she is
gone. :-)

Doc,

Speed Channel and Deam Car Garage are working on a follow-up to that show because
even the crew that maintained the cars used reported that the guy doing the driving
intentionally slowed the Javelin down. Many, many things were intentionally done to
make the Javelin lose, because the weasly host and driver thinks AMCs aren't worth
collecting, and owns a restoration business that caters only to the Big Three fans.

The follow-up show is tentatively titled 'Setting the Record Straight', and Speed
Channel has said they'll be assuring a fair result this time. Look for it in January.

Ya saw the first show and thought it was great.

The Dream Car Garage had a test between a few Muscle cars and included a
70 360 Javelin. Naturally the Javelin finished last after all the points
were totalled up. Next 2 shows were on American Muscle one was on the 2
seater AMX and Javelin AMX and the other was on the V8 American and the
SC/Rambler and Rebel Machine. Both American Muscle shows gave AMC their
properly due respect but did not mention the Hornet SC360. It mentioned
Gremlins as the first sub compact economy car and showed a wild black
Gremlin drag car with no front bumper and a wild looking tube grill and
a lower tube gill. At least it was nice to see AMC get some coverage for
a change besides the fast 5 minute insert into a show. And on 2 of the 3
shows AMC's were not belittled by some illiterate non AMC idiot who was
looking to put AMC's down from the start. Hope every one had a nice
holiday.
