Yesterday I polished out the gloss part of the dash cleaned out the car so I can sit in the front seats so today I can start the wiring for the gauges and check on the fuel gauge wiring and just neaten things up while the dash is out. Luckily for me it appears the only damage the previous owner did was to butcher the center dash for an after market radio and did not butcher the wiring. I hate working on cars with butchered wiring. Amazingly this whole car seems to be an original unmolested 31 year old survivor. It has a few dings and a couple of small dents but the paint has not been touched up and it is almost rust free. Even though I have spent a fortune on mechanical repairs I would rather do that than rust repair. On the interior I could have gotten away with only spending 4-500$ on new carpet and some plastic repair and upholstery but that puke tan with the plaid 70's leisure suit style seat inserts had to go. It is a milder version of the interior I have in my yellow Hornet. I don't like change, both cars now use the same keys too. "Doc" ------------------------ Yahoo!
